Have you ever been to a place that leaves a mark on you so deeply…

that there never seems like an adequate way to honor that connection? I first visited the Philippines solo in 2013, joining a group of 20 explorers from all over the world on a 5 day boat expedition through remote islands of the Philippines. We sailed miles and miles every day, visiting remote villages & beaches, swimming through caves, snorkeling above shipwrecks, and admiring the most picturesque vistas I have ever seen. We feasted on incredible Filipino food — fresh seafood bought from local villagers along the way, fruit & vegetables from their gardens, coconuts right off the trees, and even pork from a pig that was slaughtered before our very eyes. The Filipino crew docked the boat every night and we would swim ashore to enjoy rum & pineapples as the sun went down, chatting around the bonfire with people that only a few days ago were simply strangers. We spent nights under the stars, sleeping in bamboo huts on the beach and waking up to a gentle breeze and the sound of waves crashing nearby. No running water, no electricity, no luxuries. I have visited 3 more times since, joining the same expedition year after year, visiting the same towns, seeing the same friendly faces. Their way of life, their infectious smiles and their ability to live effortlessly happy even on the simplest of terms — has laid an everlasting effect on me. It impacted me in such significant ways that when it was time to start my company, I knew exactly what I wanted to name it after, my beautiful Philippines. An ode to this beautiful place that has undoubtedly shaped who I am as a person today.

Mabuhay.

OUR FOUNDER, HANA HART

Hana started Sabik in 2016, shortly after graduating from Savannah College of Art and Design with a BFA in Graphic Design. As she neared graduation, her classmates were working to secure their big corporate jobs in the city. However, Hana had a different plan in mind. Simply put, she was burnt out. Art school was no joke. She also wasn’t ready for a strict corporate job and the sense of being so tied down. After her final summer internship, she jetted off to the digital nomad mecca of Bali to focus on her freelance business. It boomed. After realizing that she was well on her way to creating the life she wanted for herself, Sabik was born.

While Hana is the face behind Sabik, she has a network of designers, photographers, writers, illustrators and all-around creative wizards that she bands together to create the perfect team for your unique project. That means we’re a small team; wholly dedicated to you and your project. You won’t be dealing with a plethora of account managers and designers. We prefer to work right along side you to bring your brand to life. We love what we do, and we are here to do it well.

We don’t have a set business address, or even a city. We like to be on the move to stay endlessly inspired. As we have always said, a desk and a laptop are still a desk and a laptop, no matter the location (even before COVID made it a thing 😜). This very motto has allowed us to set up shop in all corners of the globe, in the most extraordinary of places. We’ve worked from hammocks, foreign coffee shops, trailer parks, beach shacks, pool cabanas, treehouses, cliffside resorts, moroccan riads, high speed trains, you name it. We float where the wind takes us; we go where our work brings us, and we are eager about it every step of the way.

Hana * currently * works out of her cozy log cabin studio in the ski town of Breckenridge, CO; staring out her studio window to snow covered hills & the smell of fresh pine. The move to the mountains was spurred by her desire to be where she is closest to what makes her the best version of herself— the outdoors.
